Research interests

Effects of culture and migration on early adolescents’ emotional awareness and understanding. I focus on examining whether EU subcomponents are linked to youths’ social and academic functioning in different cultural contexts and immigrant groups, and if these associations are moderated by individual (e.g., environmental sensitivity, executive functioning), family (e.g., perceived parenting), peer (e.g., quality of friendships), and/or cultural factors (e.g., interdependent self-construal), which will facilitate school-related prevention/intervention programs.
