Research interests
Clinical Developmental Psychology, Pediatric Psycho-oncology, Health Psychology, Virtual reality (VR).
Regarding my research, according to the literature, children and teenagers with onco-haematological conditions could have serious cognitive, motor, and psychological short- and long-term consequences due to oncological treatment, especially when they are diagnosed at a younger age.
The aim is to evaluate these skills and identify the effect of a series of intervention programs adopting both classic and technological approach.
Virtual Reality is adopted as a distraction tool to alleviate symptoms (such as pain and anxiety) and induce positive emotions for pediatric patients, particularly when they have to undergo painful and stressful medical procedures.
